Movie Spotlight Vol #1: Spring Favorites

Ok, I will admit that I have kind of become a movie junkie these past couple of months. I have been loving tuning in to old classics and often find my self wasting money on movie tickets. Because of this I thought it would be fun to start sharing some of my favorite movies with you all – all movies listed here I have watched within the past two months!

1. The Wedding Singer

I watched this one weekend with my family, it stars Adam Sandler (whom I share a birthday with!) and Drew Barrymore. I really liked it! It was super funny and also gave off a very 80’s vibe. The only thing I wished it had more of is actually wedding singing – I loved the beginning where they performed You Spin Me Round.

2. The Proposal

My brother and I have always loved Ryan Reynolds. We are trying to watch a lot of his movies, and one of which we watched was The Proposal with Sandra Bullock. It was really good! I loved that it also starred Betty White and it was super funny.

3. Five Feet Apart

This was the saddest movie I have ever seen. I went into the theater with my grandma expecting it to be a heartwarming romance movie. I WAS WRONG

I cried out all the tears left in my body, during the movie I was mostly keeping it together – telling myself “it will have a happy ending”

Except when the ending came around I lost it and walked out a zombie. The whole theatre was crying a river of tears including the high school jock sitting next to me. I cry even thinking about it! The ending felt like a stab in the chest – if you are sensitive to sad movies like I am this may not be the one for you!

4. Isn’t It Romantic

This is one of my favorite movies! Starring Rebel Wilson (I love her!) and Liam Hemsworth – it is a hilarious rom com turned upside down based in New York. I loved how the ending emphasizes that women don’t need the perfect life and a man to be happy!

5. Camp Rock

This is one of those movies where I feel like it was sooo bad that it was good. The acting was hilariously bad making it enjoyable – that sort of thing.

6. Legally Blonde

Ah! I love this movie! Elle Woods is my spirit animal!

7. Mean Girls

I watched Mean Girls with my grandma and dad and we all thought it was hilarious! Regina is sooo amazing. I love her

8. The Notebook
Despite popular opinions, I don’t think this movie was that sad – which is why I love it. Allie and Noah are soulmates and I wish that Ryan and Rachel were still together. Period.

9. To All The Boys I Loved Before

As per the movie, I loved it! The only thing that pissed me off was in the books, I think it was the second book where Peter was begging Lara Jean to wear his lacrosse number and cheer him on at his game like all the other girlfriends do. When she finally did so LITTLE PETER DECIDED TO CONVENIENTLY NOT SHOW UP and instead HUG GEN AND COMFORT HER for who knows what reason. BAD MOVE ON PETER’S PART. (I take things too seriously…)

10. The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind

My family and I watched this on Netflix one night and it was really good! Keep in mind it is not a traditional movie, it’s more documentary style based a real life story about a boy who saved his community! Definitely worth watching – it was really inspiring and showed a powerful story. Most of the dialogue is in another language but they have captions explaining what the characters are saying.

Thats it for today’s post! As you can see I watch a lot of movies and take them too seriously – lol! Have great week xoxo,
