One of my goals for 2020 was to become more minimalist and surround myself with people, places, and even things that truly make me happy. Since then, my routine, mindset and overall well being has definitely taken a change for the better and i’m excited to show you all some of the things that have been making my days super happy lately (aka my current favorites!)
I gave in and finally started watching one of the most popular tv dramas of the past 15 years, and I will say that I am now definitely addicted. I was hesitant at first, considering I am very sensitive to both needles and honestly all things hospitals… BUT as long as I keep reminding myself it’s fiction I get by. Also, one of my favorite things about this show is that it is based in my own city, Seattle!
Growing up, fitness has always been encouraged in my house. My parents both love working out + eating healthy, and my brother has also always loved being outdoors and playing sports. I personally have always liked eating healthy and doing workouts outdoors – such as skiing, swimming and hiking. These first couple months of this year I decided to add in something to this, the Peloton! I’m sure you have seen commercials everywhere about these, but seriously I love it and think it’s worth the popularity! My personal favorite instructors are Alex and Ally Love – and I really like doing the hip – hop themed rides. I am even thinking about doing a whole post on my fitness favorites, so if you would like to see that let me know!
Getting up at 6am
Okay, so I will admit that I absolutely love sleeping. I sleep everywhere -planes, cars, trains, and I even fell asleep standing up once when I was younger. So naturally it can sometimes be a struggle to get out of bed in the morning. To help with this, I made the decision this year to force myself out of bed at 6 in the morning and get my wintery day started. I LOVE doing this so so much for a few reasons, but the main reason is I get to hang out and have coffee with my dad before he goes to work! Game changer!
Spending time outdoors
I have been doing so much outdoors so far this year and I have got to say, I LOVE it! Granted I have always been outdoorsy, I made it a goal to ski, hike, and even just work and relax outdoors whenever I can. Living in the PNW I go hiking all the time, my family is huge into skiing so that has always been a big part of my life, and working outdoors is just so refreshing and so nice to have a change of scenery.
